ARTiculation Discovery Days have been designed to develop and support students’ research and communication skills, and their understanding and engagement with art.

These workshops are open to state-maintained schools, and are free of charge to attend but booking is required.

Open to KS4 and KS5 students in England and students in Scotland studying for Highers and Advanced Highers. Discovery Days can support curriculum delivery in multiple subjects including Art, History, English, PSHE and Citizenship and have been shown to support the development of higher cognitive skills such as evaluative thinking and creativity.

Throughout the course of one day, students explore art works through:

  • personal observation
  • discussion
  • interviews with curators and directors
  • independent and group research
  • public speaking exercises

Participants are introduced to tips on how to conquer nerves, physically prepare, and successfully deliver a presentation to large audiences. At the end of the Discovery Days, every student demonstrates their research and personal responses in short group presentations.

ARTiculation Discovery Days are fully funded and are open to state sector schools only.

Articulation work with a diverse range of museum and gallery partners. Find out more on their website here.
