The World Reimagined: a transformative experience for schools across the country.

National art education project featuring globally-recognised artists launches its free Learning Programme to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Slave Trade and its impact on us all. Yinka Shonibare CBE is the Founding Artist of The World Reimagined, designing the base Globe sculpture that will be the canvas for all participating artists & schools. Are you a Parent, Teacher or School Governor who wants to empower your school community to make racial justice a reality?

A Transformative Experience
Developed for use by both primary and secondary schools, The World Reimagined Learning Programme will be a creative and experiential Journey of Discovery for students. Free resources will be created by unique collaborations between well-known creatives and subject matter experts working with educationalists. The primary school resources focus on the theme, Mother Africa- a celebration of the cultural richness and diversity of Africa, including the maths, science, art and agriculture pre 1500s to present day. The secondary school resources address each of the nine themes of the Journey of Discovery- a journey across time from before the Transatlantic Slave Trade and ending with a look towards a more hopeful future. They focus on how the learning shapes the mindsets and attitudes of students – building their compassion, curiosity, courage, connection and critical thinking.

Included in their offer is online and live Teacher Leadership training that will empower teachers with the skills and confidence to deliver
these resources, with sessions on subjects such as safe spaces and understanding power and privilege.
