Cultivator

Cultivator is a business development programme developed for Creative Businesses in Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly. It is delivered by Creative Kernow in partnership with Real Ideas, University of Plymouth, Cornwall College and Cornwall Development Company and funded by European Structural and Investment Funds, Arts Council England, and Cornwall Council.

The programme provides support through a variety of different mechanisms, from 1 to 1 support, funding, skills workshops, work placements and networking sessions, to help creative businesses in Cornwall grow.

As part of this programme Real Ideas is leading the Inclusion and Innovation strand, supporting organisations to harness diversity by adopting inclusive practice.

It will support Creative and Cultural Organisations and SMEs to see the sustainable value of diversifying their workforces, their creative output, and their audiences/client bases. The work has been designed to meet the needs of Creative and Cultural Organisations wherever they may be in their journey.

Following on from the success of year one, where we engaged with over 25 creative businesses, we are pleased to offer flexible support across three levels to meet your business needs.

Level 1 — Diverse Thinking

Businesses will explore the opportunities, and benefits to becoming more inclusive. A schedule of drop-in meetings, skills sessions and networking events will be available, covering practical and easy ways to embrace inclusion, sharing best practice and advice.

Level 2 — Inclusive Innovation

Let us help you solve the challenges your businesses face by harnessing ideas and fresh thinking from diverse voices. We can offer 1-1 support or group workshops to find innovative solutions to the challenges you might experience.

Level 3 — Braver Recruitment

Support inclusion through braver recruitment. We have a package of business support including up to 55% of the cost of a living wage to support your business to create work placements and employment opportunities. We will support you to use positive action to take an Inclusive approach to recruitment and employment.
