With a broad focus on compassionate mental health and wellbeing, and including any experiences that affect or impact these, we are inviting you and anyone you know (over 18 at present) to join us and create an image, poem, sculpture, performance piece – or anything else – that tells something of your story and contains a message to service-providers, commissioners and leaders. These pieces will become part of an exhibition that will be shown in several geographical areas, starting at Ocean Studios in Feb/March next year. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE ANY ARTISTIC SKILL TO BE PART OF THIS PROJECT! There will be multiple opportunities to contribute within your comfort zone, and have your message heard. You can read more about the project here, and if you would like to join in, know more, or collaborate with your group or organisation, please contact[email protected].
CREATIVE SESSIONSThere are three free informal sessions at Ocean Studios, where you can come along and use our free materials – or bring your own – to create with others in the Event Space. These will be drop-in events, and you can purchase light refreshments at the venue's cafe. The sessions will be loosely themed, as follows (between 1.30 – 4pm) but with no obligation to follow the theme:
February 16th 2022Messages for the Planet – Many people have told us that their mental health and wellbeing are adversely affected by global crises. Artist Lizzie Stephens will bring clay, and facilitate *the creation of models of ourselves and other living things that are being affected by climate change (see photos on the attached example doc). These will not be fired, but will eventually be allowed to decompose and go back to the earth. In all cases you are welcome to use other media, address a different issue, or just do your own thing!MORE INFORMATION ABOUT FUTURE WORKSHOPS COMING SOON. Please book for free via the links below.
